Global Learning Collaborative is a medical education company seeking an experience individual for the position of Senior Director, Scientific Affairs.
This professional will be responsible for leading and managing the Scientific Affairs team, fostering innovation in CME program design, and ensuring excellence in execution. The individual will establish strategic plans, build strong faculty relationships, and maintain high standards of performance and collaboration across all therapeutic areas.
What a day in the life of a Senior Director, Scientific Affairs looks like:
- Lead a team of scientific affairs personnel across all therapeutic areas for GLC
- Establish processes to ensure team and organization workflows that continually strive to be smarter, better, and faster
- Envision, teach, and execute complex CME concepts and product designs
- Create and enforce standards of execution, scientific excellence, and copy excellence
- Develop new CME opportunities with an emphasis on innovative program designs, robust outcomes assessments and effective adult learning
- Create strategic and tactical plans for the scientific affairs department and organization
- Establish and cultivate relationships with expert faculty to identify strengths/possible alliances to create new educational initiatives and expand existing programs
- Ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams and faculty to develop concepts for innovative and engaging educational activities for target audiences
- Track and report on the status of new and existing educational opportunities, and forecast future business
- Manage personnel matters, including performance reviews, approval of expense reports, and requests for time off
- Provide leadership to the SA team, while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high-performance and team values
- Provide oversight, guidance, mentoring, and training to the SA team
- Create and foster a culture aligned with USH Core Values
What we expect from qualified candidates:
- Advanced doctoral degree (PhD, MD, PharmD etc.) in a scientific discipline; a clinical degree is preferred
- 4+ years’ experience in continuing medical education
- Team leadership experience
- Experience creating and maintaining relationships with commercial supporters and faculty experts
- Demonstrated experience recommending educational strategies and developing program concepts
- Ability to work across various therapeutic areas and comfort in learning about new therapeutic areas
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external partners and stakeholders
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and analytical capabilities
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational skills with high ability to multi-task
- Strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of ACCME, ACPE, ANCC and other regulatory agencies' guidelines and policies in relationship to commercially supported educational activities
